Scottish prosecutors have reportedly identified two Libyans as suspects in the 1988 Pan Am 103 bombing, which killed 35 SU students, who are honored each year by the university.

Scottish prosecutors have identified two Libyans as suspects in the Pan Am 103 bombing, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

The bombing, which occurred on Dec. 21, 1988, killed 270 people, including 35 Syracuse University students. Scottish Prosecutor Frank Mulholland has agreed to a joint course of action with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, according to The Times, a United Kingdom newspaper.

Mulholland and Lynch have requested permission from Libyan authorities for Scottish police and the FBI to interview the two suspects in Tripoli, according to BBC.

Prosecutors believe the two suspects, who have not been named, were involved in the bombing along with Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, according to BBC. Megrahi, who died in 2012, is the only person who has been convicted in relation to the bombing.
