Juice Jam will take place 28 days after the first day of classes .

UPDATED: Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Juice Jam 2016 will be held on Sept. 25 at Skytop Field on South Campus, according to a University Union representative.

The date is later than in past years due to several scheduling conflicts.

“The reasoning for the later date is due to the fact that the usual date, the second Sunday of September, falls on September 11,” said Grant Nygaard, UU’s Public Relations Director in a statement. “Therefore, out of respect, it was decided to go forego that date. Orange Central Homecoming weekend falls on the 18, therefore the decision was made to schedule the festival on the 25th.”

Last year’s Juice Jam was held on Sept. 13, 14 days after classes began and Juice Jam 2014 was held Sept. 8, 15 days after classes began.

In the past the outdoor musical festival has featured six artists, including two co-headliners.

Nygaard said the number of performers have yet to be solidified.

Past Juice Jam performers include Big Sean, Dillon Francis and Kendrick Lamar.

This year will be the 12th-annual Juice Jam.

“Preparations are being made to ensure this year will be another successful event for the SU community,” Nygaard said.

CORRECTION: In a previous version of this article, the date of the scheduling conflict was misstated. The second Sunday of September is Sept. 11. The Daily Orange regrets this error.
