Kaci Wasilewski | Asst. Digital Editor

Syracuse took 40 shots in its win over North Carolina on Saturday.

Syracuse (8-3, 2-2 Atlantic Coast) jumped two spots to No. 7 in Monday’s Inside Lacrosse media poll.

The Orange previously ranked ninth before wins over then-No. 8 Cornell and then-No. 18 North Carolina during the week. Syracuse topped the Big Red on Tuesday, holding Cornell to a season-low eight goals. On Saturday, the Orange dispatched the Tar Heels, 12-9, to finish .500 or above in conference for the sixth-straight year.

No. 3 Duke is the highest ranked ACC team. The Blue Devils knocked off No. 6 Virginia on Saturday. Notre Dame is currently No. 12 and with the loss, North Carolina fell out of the top-20. Penn State remains the No. 1 team in the country.

Syracuse finishes the regular season against Navy (5-6, 3-4 Patriot) at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Annapolis, Maryland.
