Daily Orange File Photo
Syracuse will host Iowa on Tuesday, Dec. 3 in the Carrier Dome. The nonconference matchup is part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Syracuse has won its matchup in the challenge in each of its last two seasons with wins over Maryland (2017) and Ohio State (2018).
Iowa returns three starters from last season in which it finished 23-12. The Hawkeyes lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Tennessee, 83-77.
Syracuse returns one player (Elijah Hughes) who started more than six games. Iowa’s top-returning scorer, forward Luke Garza, averaged 13.1 points per game and 4.5 rebounds while Hughes 13.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Syracuse men's basketball will be traveling to Italy for 10 days in August to play four exhibition games. The games will be against Italian select teams in Vedano Olona, Vincenza, Siena and Rome.
This will be the first time Syracuse has traveled internationally since 2013.
