Syracuse University has placed its chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma under quarantine after two members tested positive for the coronavirus.
The two members have been relocated to isolation housing, said Sarah Scalese, senior associate vice president for university communication, in a statement to The Daily Orange. All members living in Kappa’s house will quarantine and the university’s contact tracing process is “underway,” Scalese said.
This is the first reported instance of SU placing a Greek organization’s house under quarantine since SU resumed residential instruction on Aug. 24. As of Friday, SU had reported five active coronavirus cases among students in central New York.
