Syracuse University’s Department of Safety responded to a report of an armed robbery at 514 Euclid Ave. at approximately 6:45 p.m. Saturday evening, according to a campus-wide DPS email.

DPS identified the reporter as a recent graduate of SU. The alleged perpetrator fled the scene after threatening the person with a handgun and stealing his backpack, according to DPS.

The DPS message states that the suspect approached the victim and demanded he empty his pockets. After the victim then showed his empty pockets, the alleged perpetrator then reportedly pointed a gun at the student’s feet and ordered him to hand over his backpack, to which the victim complied.

The suspect, described as an adult male wearing a ski mask and black jacket, fled from the scene toward Sumner Avenue, according to DPS. After the incident, the victim drove to a Syracuse Police Department station to report the robbery.
