Syracuse women’s lacrosse assistant coach Abigail Rehfuss is no longer with the program, according to a report from Syracuse.com Thursday. Rehfuss spent one season with the Orange after six years as Siena’s head coach.
SU Athletics declined to tell syracuse.com if Rehfuss was fired or resigned from her position.
Rehfuss took the role as an assistant after long-time assistant Kenzie Kent left the program for the same position at Harvard. Rehfuss helped develop Kate Mashewske on the draw control in her historic season, totaling 234 draws on the season. The Orange reached their second consecutive Final Four in 2024.
“Assistant coach Abby Rehfuss had an outstanding year with the women’s lacrosse program,” SU Director of Athletics John Wildhack said in a written statement. “We are grateful for her steadfast commitment and numerous contributions to the program.”
